VILNA REMEMBERED

My program "Vilna Remembered" honors the Yiddish culture that was destroyed by the Nazis and their collaborators. Vilna was known as "Jerusalem of Lithuania" and was the site of my own deepest encounter with the life and death of that culture. This 90 minute concert evokes that enocunter through klezmer music, story, Yiddish song, and the poetry of Abraham Sutzkever.
